We reported at the start of IPL 2013 that the Chennai Super Kings were the favorite to win the tournament outright with odds of 5.00 at Bet365. Coming off yet another win, beating Kings XI Punjab today by 15 runs, it appears that the Super Kings are not disappointing on that prediction, currently holding a 6 point lead over a four way tie for second place. Anything can happen, but it is looking very good for CSK who have only lost 2 of their 11 matches so far.
It doesn’t appear, however, that CSK is taking anything for granted. MS Dhoni of the Chennai Super Kings was recently quoted as saying, “I don’t think we would really rest anyone (for the next game). I think it’s important to continue playing your best XI.” It seems we can count on CSK to continue their push into the latter part of the season.
We will see CSK preform again when they take on Mumbai Indians on May 5th at 16:00 IST in Mumbai.
The four way tie for second is shared by Royal Challengers, Mumbai Indians and surprise additions of the pack of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. Before the season began Sunrisers and Royals were predicted to have the worst odds of winning the tournament at 15.00 and 17.00 respectively. They each have beat expectations so far.
It should be no surprise that www.williamhill.com is predicting CSK to be the winner of IPL 2013 going forward with odds of 2.62. Followed by Mumbai Indians (3.75), Royal Challengers (4.5), Royals (7.5), Sunrisers (11), Kings XI (26), Knight Riders (34), Daredevils (34), Warriors (67).
